| Description | Cotton with natural dyes. Cotton textile probably made for sale to tourists as tablecloth or hanging but using traditional design elements taken from man's hinggi. Warp ikat, with design in centre panel of two crocodiles alongside one another, each of their tails curled in a tight spiral, in yellows and red-browns with blue against a dark brown ground. Small naga motifs between. At each end a short panel in gold and brown set against a russet ground with a symmetrical design of three birds. Warp ends have red and cream looped stitching as reinforcement. Warp ends twined |
