Description
Brass. Roughly diamond-shaped with a slit at the base leading to a circular aperture at the centre. A foot at each side of the base with figures under a parasol. Historically crafted from gold, plain versions functioned as bridewealth gifts between wife-takers and wife-givers. Decorated examples served as sacred household altar objects. Contemporary use includes wear by girl dancers in Lauli and Anakalang communities
